Microsoft Announces Price Changes and New Features for Microsoft 365

Microsoft has announced a significant expansion of Microsoft 365 features, along with adjustments to commercial subscription pricing. These changes reflect a growing emphasis on artificial intelligence, security, and device management across organizations of all sizes. At the same time, they provide customers with more value directly within their existing licenses.

What's changing

Starting July 1, 2026, the pricing for select Microsoft 365 commercial plans will be updated. At the same time, Microsoft is expanding the availability of AI features (such as Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat), security tools, and device management capabilities to meet the demands of the modern digital workplace. These changes are being announced in advance to give organizations ample time to plan their budgets and licensing strategies.

More value in licenses

The new features include broader use of AI in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; enhanced protection for email and Teams against advanced threats; and improved tools for IT administrators in the areas of endpoint management and security. With these updates, Microsoft reaffirms its long-term commitment to investing in innovation and enhancing the value of Microsoft 365 as a key platform for work and collaboration.

I have been using the portal to order SaaS for six months, and I appreciate its simplicity and speed. Immediate activation and delivery to the customer is a major benefit. Compared to CSP, purchasing additional licenses is easier, and maintaining the same expiration date eliminates complicated invoicing for customers who have multiple products with different expiration dates. The only thing to keep in mind is to calculate the price of the product for the shorter period before offering it to the customer.
